With sundown fast approaching, I needed to get to one more destination before I bid Chengde farewell. Actually, I have already been to my next destination since I got there before the Putuozongcheng Temple. Although the bus stops along the main highway in front of the Putuozongcheng Temple weren’t very obvious, the crowd of people near it told me that there was a bus stop nearby. I basically had to wait for any public bus that passes by since I will be getting off at the next stop.
The next stop was Xumifushou Temple, one of the Eight Outer Temples in Chengde which surround the Mountain Resort. This temple seems to be much smaller that the Putuozongcheng Temple, but no matter, this place should be just as significant as the others. I didn’t need any ticket to get in since the ticket at the Putuozongcheng Temple also allows entry to the Xumifushou Temple. I just found it annoying that they don’t have any ticket booth here at the Xumifushou Temple although there were ticket checkers. It was a slow day but it was getting busier since I saw a couple of tour buses parking in front of the Xumifushou Temple just as I was entering.
