It was a cold morning in Chengde, cold for me, at least it was not as cold as it was that night on the train. Any colder and my jacket would not be able to handle it anymore. I don’t suppose anyone would lend me a jacket here. I guess I would be able to handle the cold better if I had better clothes. The weather was perfect for exploration and I finally got to have some breakfast. It was a place which seemed to have a lot of people. I was hoping I would be able to try something which Chengde is known for but no such luck.
The train station has a car park just outside it. But more importantly there was a bus terminal right there. I was glad it was this convenient here. I asked around which one passes to my intended destination and they were saying that any bus which ends in five passes through there. Indeed the bus passed by my destination, but I didn’t know. I was relying on the on-board announcement but apparently I didn’t understand it. I missed my stop and got off at the next station which actually wasn’t that far away. It also allowed me to get a look a other parts of the city of Chengde.
