After exploring the impressive Temple of Heaven in Beijing, I had a quick dinner near my hostel and rested for a couple of hours before heading out again. It was already night time and I was rushing to make sure that I catch the subway before it closes. I needed to get to the Beijing Railway station. Getting there was easy enough since it has a subway station of its own. I bought the train tickets the previous day and I will be heading back to Chengde once again.
You might recall how I had a misadventure at Chengde where I couldn’t find an affordable place to stay in the city, electing instead to go back to Beijing and come back another day. Well today is that day, no longer will I have to worry about buses taking too long to get to the destination, no longer will I have to worry about the buses taking the way slower highway to Chengde, I will be taking the train this time. In particular, the K4452/K5543, it leaves at 00:25 and gets to Chengde 06:31. This way I won’t have to worry about finding an affordable place to stay. At CNY 20 it certainly is a cheap way to go there.
