I was already on my last legs when I reached the foot of Flowers Tower. It was strategically placed on top of a mountain, which meant the only way there would be to climb the mountain. I told myself that this will be my last tower since I needed to get back to the car park before dark where my driver was hopefully still waiting for me. The climb up Flowers Tower was not very easy, as can be see in the photos, the stairs are in very poor condition and sometimes you need to scramble to move on. The vendor who was still with me was walking on the collapsed side much to my horror.
The Flowers Tower used to be a significant tower, in fact is used to have two stories and a roof. The doors used to be made of white marble, making it sound more like a house. Alas, all that is left now is the foundation of the tower. Visitors can still however go up to the second floor for viewing. Below, the hawker told me that the names of the soliders can be found in the bricks themselves and true enough she was able to show me a brick along the wall where Chinese characters are clearly inscribed. There are some truly remarkable stories that can be told by these walls, it would probably take more than a lifetime to learn all about them.
