I had a great night’s sleep at The Baba House. Though there weren’t a lot of amenities at the room itself, it was pleasant enough to stay in. There was small breakfast buffet but there wasn’t anything special about it. It was just fried noodles and some egg and toast. I actually went outside to get better stuff afterwards, more about that in a future post.
I didn’t really have a schedule that day since I did everything to do the previous day. I decided to take a walk along the other side of the Sungei Melaka, the side which goes to the sea. Apparently, the government has fixed up the riverbanks that it is possible to safely walk along it for quite a distance. I walked up until I hit a barrage which controls the water level of the Sungei Melaka. But other than that, there wasn’t really anything interesting in that place. Further in the distance one of the newer attractions that were built in the reclaimed area. The Eye on Malaysia is an observation wheel which gives visitors a great view of the Melaka and the Straits of Melaka. Fortunately, they put it far away from the historical center so as not to be an eyesore.
