One of the more prominent museums along the row of museums at Melaka is the Melaka Transportation Museum. One can easily spot the museum by seeing the large exhibits that they have. Actually, I didn’t end up knowing where the museum building actually was, if there was one. Their exhibits were already out in the open for everyone to see. As one would expect in a transportation museum, all of the exhibits were about vehicles.
The vehicles that were on show were the old vehicles from the 1900s. There was a large locomotive with actual rails on display. There was also an impressive World War II era propeller plane back when the country was still called Malaya. Naturally, they didn’t only focus on the transportation of the modern era, but also some from centuries ago, such as ox drawn carts. The ox were not real though, in fact they didn’t even make an effort to make it look real. Although some may find the exhibits fascinating, the presence of these rather kitschy exhibits don’t really add much value to Melaka as an attraction. I would rather not have them there and have them in a building of their own.
