Now that I have finally had my lunch, it was time to go full throttle in my exploration of fascinating Melaka. I was wandering off the side of the Famosa Chicken Rice Ball Restaurant when I chanced on this quaint little garden. It was like a tropical garden setting with water feature on both sides. The place is Puri Padi and it is actually a shop. I was half expecting it to be a spa or a massage parlour. It sells a lot of antique or native looking decorations.
Most of the stuff here look really neat but I don’t have space to decorate with things like this. There were a lot of people looking around too, most especially westerners. While the design of the place is quite impressive, I would have to wonder about the space they wasted on the garden outside, which is quite easily half the total lot area. Perhaps they were showcasing their skill in design as well, so it actually serves as an advertisement and as a place for visitors to relax. If you are into this sort of this, you might want to drop by this shop and have look.

I was at Padi and liked the stuff they had in there. I picked out a bamboo curtain, went to look for other stuff while they pack up the curtain that I’ve chosen. When I returned home, after a 2 hrs drive, the curtain was not the one I’ve chosen. The bamboo strands were not of equal length. I wrote to Padi on their hotmail and have sent them pictures. They hv not replied for over a week. Today, the bamboo beads starts to break… Because the metal wire holding them together are all rusted. If u are considering buying from Padi, make sure u see them pack the pieces. I will not return to Padi… It will be a RM169 lesson.
although i love looking at stuff like these, i never really buy. that is quite an unfortunate incident, as always, buyer beware.
thanks for visiting!
Same for me! I bough 2 curtains and when I arrived at home (in Europe), I remarked that the curtains where not the ones that I gave to the vendor. He much have changed it behind my back for shorter ones…
Besides that, the things are simply marvelous! I bough also a wooden fruit plate…
