Surprisingly, the Marina Barrage Park was an interesting and relaxing place to hang out in. Although there were a lot of people also hanging out as well, there was enough space to accommodate everybody. That goes to show you how big the park is. Other than the green areas there was also a small amphitheater like structure off to the side of the park. Naturally, this place is used for performances, but at the time of my visit there weren’t any performances but it served another purpose – shelter from the hot sun.
The Marina Barrage Park also features what they call a Solar Park, which is basically a large collection of photovoltaic cells on top of the roof of the Marina Barrage Park. I was surprised to see this, but then it doesn’t come as any surprise to see this since the Marina Barrage itself was billed as being eco-friendly. Although the Solar Park isn’t really that big, its mere presence is significant enough to make people aware the need to conserve energy.
