The dirt path down the Dragon’s Back turned out not to be as long as the way going in, that is, from Shaukeiwan. After going down a gentle slope from the Dragon’s Back, we found ourselves face to face with a highway, one of things I least expected. Apparently this is where the path, quite unceremoniusly, ends. Conveniently for us, there was a bus stop right here, and it brings us to the town of Shek O. I guess from the bus’ point of view, this was one of those bus stops in the middle of nowhere.
The bus still took its sweet time going around the mountain before actually heading to Shek O. Not that I’m complaining, since the views from the bus were magnificent. These were the same sceneries which I saw from the Dragon’s Back. We passed by a golf course, which I guess is a rarity in the Hong Kong. We eventually got to Shek O town where immediately you can feel the difference in atmosphere. Even the bus stop itself is very different from the normal Hong Kong bus stop you can see elsewhere. This is especially more apparent with the unique and old school fonts used in the station’s name.
