From the Yuen Po Bird Garden, I decided to walk back to Mongkok, which I supposed was only one MTR stop away from where I was. I have a rough idea of the layout of the place and I think I know where I was going. The bird garden was right outside the Mongkok KCR station and it was relatively easy for me to know where to walk to. One of the more interesting places I passed through was the Fa Yuen Street Market. For the longest time, I thought the Ladies Market at Mongkok was the only street market in Hong Kong, I guess I was being too presumptuous.
The side of Fa Yuen Street is currently a street market with the entire market area closed to vehicluar traffic. It feels a lot like the Ladies market in Mongkok itself but somehow the stuff they sell here in Fa Yuen don’t really look interesting. I guess you can say that this street market is meant more for the locals. Although there are one or two good deals, these are mostly clothes which are of questionable quality. Even though I like walking through these kinds of places, nothing really interested me. The market was quite crowded which was a little surprising since I thought it was still a little early in the afternoon. Eventually I crawled my way out of the street market. I would prefer the Ladies Market over this though.
