Hong Kong is divided into three parts: Hong Kong Island, where the main business district is, Kowloon, which is separated from Hong Kong island by Victoria harbour and the New Territories, which is closer to China. Tsim Sha Tsui being nearest Hong Kong Island is considered Kowloon side. Kowloon side is famous for the shopping street Nathan Road and also for having a mind boggling array of luxury hotels. I was at the promenade area at Tsim Sha Tsui and I was retracing my steps when there was an opportunity for me to cross the highway.
The walkway led me to parts of Tsim Sha Tsui I have never visited yet as I usually spend most of my time at Nathan Road. Although it is not as crowded as the other part of Tsim Sha Tsui, there are still quite a lot of pedestrians here. Somehow it is not easy to get away from large crowds here in Hong Kong. As expected even the roads where there are less foot traffic are still crammed with stores and shopping centers. It is really a wonder how these shops manage to survive the intense competition.
