One of the newer additions to the promenade area is the Avenue of Stars. This is the Hong Kong’s Hollywood Walk of Fame featuring the names of big names in Hong Kong showbusiness. The avenue is actually just a portion of the the promenade area with stars on the ground. True to its name, it is quite long and there were a lot of stars on it. Naturally, the stars had names on it, majority of those I never even heard of.
Some of the ones I know are the four Heavenly Kings who are renowned for their singing, Andy Lau, Jacky Cheung, Leon Lai and Aaron Kwok. Some of these stars have the names of stars who have already passed away such as Bruce Lee. There were the occasional statues which dot the stretch of the Avenue of Stars, including an impressive one for Bruce Lee. However, the Avenue of Stars itself is not really that interesting unless you are into Hong Kong Cinema.
I never really paid too much attention to this place before but people keep asking me whether I have been to this place or not I can’t say I have. But now, I think I was right to have ignored this place all this time. Fortunately, there was more for the promenade than the Avenue of Stars. I guess it is a good diversion from merely walking along the walkway.
