I took the Plaza España as my entrance point into the walled city of Intramuros. From the Aduana, I walk past a few office buildings where I run into a small school with a park beside it. The park is lined with numerous food stalls where students would buy stuff. However, since it was a Sunday, so their stalls were not open. The park itself ws fences out presumably to get rid of any possible vagrants that might try to sleep there.
AS it turns out, the road leads to the side of the Manila Metropolitan Cathedral, it was early afternoon and there was no Holy Mass being celebrated so there were hardly any vehicles around the area except for the occasional horse drawn carriage asking me if I want to take a ride around Intramuros. What I did notice were some vehicles parked in front of the cathedral. Apparently, they were hired by tourists to bring them to the cathedral and around Intramuros. The irritating thing was they parked right where the good spot was. It was basically impossible for us to take a photo of the cathedral without taking a photo of the vehicle itself.
It would seem that they valued their client’s comfort so they parked at the nearest spot possible. There was another group of photographers who were also irritated at the parked vehicles but there was nothing we could do. Eventually, I got tired of waiting and moved on.
