In face of the fast food onslaught that is facing Manila’s Chinatown, there are a few enduring restaurants that has faced the challenge. One of these is Tasty Dumpling. As you might expect, it is a Chinese fast food restaurant and it specializes in dumplings. It has at least two branches in Chinatown itself. It was lunch time and I decided to pay this joint a visit.
Amusingly, Tasty Dumpling did not become famous for their dumplings. They achieved fame because of their tasty pork chop rice. Their pork chop is rather large and it covers almost half the plate. It is coated with flour and deep fried to a crisp while leaving the pork chop itself still tender and moist. Needless to say, the pork chop was really tasty. Make sure to use their chili, it goes great with the pork chop. It is also quite affordable since a lot of fast food chain serve more expensive stuff for less food and less taste.
