At the end of the wonderful elevated Forest Walk is a highway, which reminds you that you are back in civilization. However, this does not mark the end of the Southern Ridges walk. Connected to the elevated walkway of the Forest Walks is the impressive Alexandra Arch. Just like the Henderson Waves, the Alexandra Arch is a pedestrian bridge with a more modest height. The Alexandra Arch is basically an arch which is tilted to its side but is held up by strong supports.
Along the horizontal plane of the arch is a walkway which lets pedestrians cross the busy highway below. I’ve seen photos of the Alexandra Arch and I didn’t know it was actually part of the Southern Ridges walk. It is now one of the highlights of the walk. It was quite difficult to take a good photo of the arch since I was so close to it. I had to walk a few meters down the road just to be able to appreciate it better.
