It was one of my friends’ brithday and upon my constant urging, she agreed to treat us to celebrate her birthday. Unusually, she chose a rather unorthodox hour of ten in the morning to meet up for lunch or rather brunch. The venue was PS Cafe in the area known as Dempsey Hill. I have never been to this place before nor do I know how to get there. Fortunately, a bus outside my home passes near the place. When I got to the stop I needed to get off, it started raining and I mean pouring.
So here was I trying to find a place which I have never been too, in the pouring rain. Apparently, Dempsey Hill is quite an upmarket area, no wonder I haven’t been here, there are a few fancy restaurants here and I was surprised to see so many in this isolated place. This place used to be an army barracks during the British times, but now it has been converted into a lifestyle destination. The isolation of the location is part of the attraction.
Anyway, PS Cafe was one of these establishments and it was like a small little hut on a wide expanse of green. Actually, the small little hut has glass walls with impressive interiors and has a wooden path which leads to the entrance. The cafe itself is very impressive, which makes you feel very classy indeed. Not surprisingly, a lot of people come here and it would be best to make reservations beforehand. Our brunch was excellent, and I think it was well worth the money, even though I didn’t pay a cent for it. They also have a nice selection of deserts which will make you forget your diet.
