I took the easy way back to the Khao San Road, there was a taxi queue right beside the Siam Paragon and soon I was on my way back to Khao San Road. I wouldn’t want to risk a tuk-tuk driver ruining my schedule just because I wanted to save some Baht. There was mild traffic on the way to Kaho San Road, but nothing unmanageable. This was my last day in Bangkok and I am sorry to be leaving so soon. Bangkok is a very interesting city, traditional and yet cosmopolitan at the same time. This is one of those rare places where tradition and modernity managed to live in harmony.
From Khao San Road, there was a regular shuttle service to the airport all for 150 Baht. This is very convenient as I do not have to worry about finding a way to the airport. I bet that taking a cab to the airport would cost me much more than that. Since I was traveling alone, there was no one to share it with. The ride to the airport was an uneventful one, in fact it was like I had the entire bus all to myself. I guess not a lot of travelers were going back to the airport at this time. I still had a few more hours before the flight to I treated myself to a last Thai meal at the food court at the airport. Beef noodles and some spring rolls. Very nice and a fitting end to my travels. It was an amazing journey from the temples of Myanmar to the giant shopping malls of Bangkok. I hope to be able to do something like this again.
