The Grand Palace is one of the must-visit places here in Bangkok. It seemed that I arrived a little too early and the entrance to the Grand Palace was still closed. So most of the tourists were waiting outside the entrance. This gave me time to withdraw top up some cash from a nearby ATM as my funds were running a little low since I still need to go shopping later in the day.
When we were finally let in, I found out that the Grand Palace has a dress code. No shorts allowed! I don’t remember this rule when I first visited anyway, the visitor center at the Grand Palace entrance has a place which lends visitors jogging pants for the duration of the tour. I destested the idea of wearing someone else’s pants but since it was still early in the day, maybe, just maybe, they already washed them. The changing room was full of graffiti by foreigners, a lot of them poking fun at the jogging pants.
The booth to pay the entrance fee was a little confusing since I didn’t know where to go and how to pay, they staff weren’t very helpful either. Considering it was one of the country’s top tourist destinations, they could have at least made the booth a little more organized. Finally I was in, having been here before, I already knew what to expect. This time, armed with a new camera, I was determined to photograph every single square inch of the Grand Palace.
