We were led to the dining area where all tour groups usually hold their lunches. It was a grassy area just beyond the beach. It was covered with fans, so it was a relief to be in the shade again. There were neat rows of tables and chairs under the shelters. Apparently, each shelter is already allocated to a particular tour group. I’m not sure whether they all serve the same food but I was just tired and starving.
The food itself wasn’t spectacular. In fact, I thought it was a little on the safe side. Since we were the foreigner group, there is a large chance that we do not stomach the local food. It was really a disappointment since being a tour group, I would expect the food to be part of the attractions, but no. I didn’t even eat much of the food since it seemed to be just like the catered food I have in the office whenever there are occasions.
I spent the rest of the time resting in the shade since a lot of my co-tourists were still eating. Maybe they were new to this kind of this so they were enjoying it. I didn’t like it one bit but I leave it for them to judge. I think I shouldn’t have expected too much from this lunch in the first place. Afterall the operators of the trip still need to earn money.
