Breakfast at Bright Hotel

So I basically have around five days to spend here in Nyaungshwe. The weather is nice and cool and it a refreshing break from the heat at Mandalay, perfect place to kick back and relax. Although it is in the mountains it can still get hot here in the summer though. My taxi driver booked me at the Bright Hotel, small cozy little guest house along the main road. It is at a great spot too, in my opinion. There are other hotels in the area which stay near the river, but it tends to get really noisy in the morning when all the boats start leaving for the market.

The road along Bright Hotel takes you directly to the river which is just a block or two away. However, what I really liked about the Bright Hotel is the breakfast they serve here. One of the staff at Bright Hotel, who spoke good English asked me what I wanted for breakfast, I ordered a Burmese breakfast, whatever that was. What came back to me totally surprised me. The Burmese breakfast, came with some Shan Noodles, which looked like some Chinese noodles in spicy sauce, which wasn’t bad at all. Not only that, it also came with a large serving of fruit. Papaya, avocado and banana were all in one plate. And not only that, the also have banana shake and tea to wash it all down.

I wasn’t really expecting something like this here. I guess these must be really cheap here so they can afford to spoil the guests like this. I’m not sure how it is for the other hotels but I was thoroughly satisfied with what I got here at Bright Hotel. The English speaking staff at Bright Hotel even helped me reserve a seat on a bus going to Yangon, apparently, it was the last seat on the last bus going from Taunggyi to Yangon for that week. They understood my predicament and were really helpful.
