Not far from the Thatbyinnyu Temple is the Ngakywenadaung Pagoda, its structure is much like the Bu Paya along the Ayeyarwaddy River. However, unlike the golden gourd shaped Bu Paya, the Ngakywenadaung Pagoda looked rather neglected. The pagoda was supposedly covered in green tiles however, I didn’t really see much of the said green tiles and all that was left is the red bricks which make up the main pagoda.
The Ngakywenadaung Pagoda is not normally in the radar of temple hopping tourists, however, this place is easily visited due to its proximity to the Thatbyinnyu Temple. A short walk from the Thatbyinnyu Temple to the Ngakywenadaung Pagoda can give the visitor an excellent view of the Thatbyinnyu Temple. I guess you can add another temple to your already long list of Bagan temples.
