The next day was a better day for taking photos. My friend and I got out early afternoon for me to take some photos. The sky was clear and blue, perfect for taking photos. We took a bus to the Macau Ferry Terminal for my trip the following day. We then took a walk along the promenade area where there are nice views of the nearby buildings.

The last time I was here, the 2 International Finance Center Tower wasn’t even completed. Now, it is complete with the new hotel component of the complex. The mall itself isn’t that interesting though. The 2 IFC Tower used to be the tallest in Hong Kong and the second tallest in China but is now eclipsed by the development across the harbour. China itself has built even taller buildings.

The Star Ferry cruise was perfect since the sky was so nice, even the water had a nice color to it. I always thought the water here to be dark brown or something like that, but it can actually have a nice blue green hue to it. The Hong Kong International Convention Center very clear unlike the other day where it was dark and Central Plaza’s top was obscured by clouds.

Over time, the Victoria Harbour has developed. If you do not want to take the slow ferry to the Kowloon side, you can take the train or the buses where take you through one of several Cross Harbour Tunnels. This is an amazing feat of engineering knowning that just above you as you go through the tunnel is water.

In addition to the tunnels reclamation projects have constantly bit off small pieces of Victoria Harbour over the years. This was not until some groups started warning everybody that the Victoria Harbour might completely disappear if the reclamation projects do not stop.

We took a walk around the Tsim Sha Tsui area of Kowloon side, which is known as a shopping district. Much of the vibrance of Hong Kong is still here years after the handover to China. Although the sky was clear, it wasn’t that hot either so it was nice walk for us. This is another one of the great pleasures of Hong Kong, window shopping is great here!
