The freshly minted Kunming Changshui International Airport is China’s fourth largest airport, replacing an aging airport very near the city. I was surprised to know that I would using the new airport and that the transfer to the new airport only happened a few days ago. From the looks of it, the transfer has been smooth and the airport terminal feels very brand new. Upon entering the terminal, one can already feel the cavernous size of the terminal. In fact, this is China’s second largest passenger terminal.
For now, I first need to get my stuff. Everything was very easy to figure out since a lot of signs were in English. Obviously, they also plan to cater to the growing international tourist market. Not that they need it anyway, since the local tourist traffic is already the envy of other countries.
